Lemgo ("we", "our", "us") is a location-based dating application. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, where it is stored, and what choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account and sign-in information: account identifiers, name, email address when provided, age, gender, language, and Apple Sign In data when you use Apple to create or access your account.
Profile content: profile text, photos, voice recordings, preferences, and other information you choose to add to your profile.
Location data: city-level or approximate location data used to show nearby profiles and support distance-based discovery features.
Activity and relationship data: likes, passes, matches, blocks, reports, profile views, and other interactions within the service.
Messages and media: messages, shared images, and audio content exchanged in chats.
Device and service data: push notification tokens, app diagnostics, and basic technical data needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
Support and feedback submissions: information you send through the in-app Developer Feedback form or by email to support.

How We Use Information

To create and manage your account and authenticate you when you sign in, including with Apple Sign In.
To operate the core dating service, including profile display, matching, messaging, discovery, and distance-based features.
To moderate the platform, investigate abuse, process blocks and reports, and protect the safety of users and the service.
To send service communications and push notifications such as new matches, messages, and account-related updates.
To provide support, respond to feedback, troubleshoot issues, and improve the app.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
To show advertising in the app, including Google AdMob placements where enabled.

What Other Users Can See

Because Lemgo is a dating service, some information is intentionally shared with other users as part of the product. Depending on how you use the app, other users may see your public profile information, including your display name, age, profile text, photos, voice introduction, approximate location or city, and certain profile activity made visible through the app experience.

What Stays Internal

We do not make your private account records publicly visible. Internal data such as sign-in identifiers, email address when not shown in your profile, support submissions, report history, moderation records, device-level technical data, push tokens, and backend metadata are kept for internal service, security, moderation, and support purposes.

Location Data

Lemgo uses location information to support local discovery and distance-based matching. We aim to use approximate rather than precise location presentation in the user experience. Location data is used to operate the app, improve matching relevance, and reduce abuse, but it is not intended to expose your exact real-time position to other users.

Advertising, AdMob, and Consent

Lemgo may display ads in the app, including ads served through Google AdMob. Ad providers may process device and app information in connection with ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, frequency capping, or similar advertising operations.

Where applicable law or platform rules require consent for certain advertising technologies or personalized advertising, Lemgo uses Google's consent flow before requesting eligible ads. The options shown to you may depend on your region, device platform, and app configuration at the time you use the service, and privacy options may be made available to revisit those choices where required.

Where Your Data Is Stored

We use different infrastructure providers depending on the type of data involved:

Media content: photos, voice recordings, and similar stored media are hosted on Cloudflare storage infrastructure.
Metadata and app data: user account information, profile details, messages, location-related data, matches, moderation-related metadata, and other application records are stored on infrastructure hosted by Hetzner.

We use these providers to operate the service securely and reliably. Some of these providers may process data in countries outside your home jurisdiction, which may involve international data transfers.

When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data in the following limited situations:

with other users where sharing is part of the core dating experience;
with service providers and infrastructure partners that help us operate hosting, media storage, notifications, support, analytics, or advertising features;
when required for legal compliance, law enforcement requests, fraud prevention, safety investigations, or enforcement of our Terms;
in connection with a business transfer, restructuring, or sale if the service changes ownership or control.

Data Retention

We retain data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain user accounts, support conversations and matches, investigate abuse, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. If you delete your account, we delete the account and associated live records from our active systems, subject to limited technical residue such as logs and other records reasonably needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or system recovery.

Account Deletion and Data Export

You can request a copy of your data using the in-app export feature and you can delete your account from the app's profile section. If you signed in with Apple, related account handling may also involve Apple's identity systems. Deletion is intended to remove your account, profile, matches, messages, photos, audio, and other directly linked live records. However, limited residual information may remain in technical logs or in notification and event-history records that were already created for other users inside the service, or where retention is reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or system recovery.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to certain processing of, or delete your personal data. You can use available in-app tools for export and deletion, and you may also contact us if you need help exercising those rights.

Children

Lemgo is intended only for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use the service, and we do not knowingly allow children to create accounts.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
